DO YOU THINK THAT BOR WILL BENEFIT FROM CENSUS?

Hi Everbody, I am wondering whether We the Bor will benefit from the National census being carried out in the Country. According to what I heard and know of census; it is to help the government to plan for people's developmental activities and provide services to the people. But are we at home now?; who are to be counted so that we get our fair share of national cake tomorrow when GOSS provide services according to numbers?

Hello Chief/M, You remark a good questionable “how Bor people will be beneficiaries from “census,” that looming in Sudan? What you said it means a fair point of view. According to me, I think there will be no harmful toward Bor community at all. It seems to me it is countrywide census “meaning that the whole Sudan at large will be countable, before referendum approach between the North and South in 2001.” The Government of National Unity GONU) is eager to be sure “how many people in South, West, East, and North-Sudan will be ready to vote for self-determination.” I think the census will not going to harm Bor, even if the vast majority of Bor in Diaspora who were exposed by war to exile. It will not cause anything to Bor particular and the whole (Jong-Kulei) enlarge including Nuer-AKoba, Anyuak-Pachalla, Murle-Boma, and many other communities in Jong-Kulei dwellers. This is significant when we consider that the most essential will help to the Southerners, but not to lose their right in self-determination coming as a good thing people should know the population. I think oil wealth or other materials will be divided equally according to the region, but not population. Evenly, it is ongoing now in (GOSS) the divide the services are according to the state, but not population living in area. Well, I never heard that there will be any kind like resources will be dividing according to number of people living in the region. So, Mr. Chief/M did you heard such kind of rumors about wealth of Sudan will be divide according the number of people dwelling in the state? But your input is valuable! Manyok
