The Culture Of The Modern Dinka In Sudan By Laul Laak

The Valvable Of The Dinka Cultue In Southern-Sudan

It is very important if we still appreciate what used to be our culture regardless of transition of life/ modernization. We must note that cultural is the spinal cords that effect, norms, and moral value in a particular realms.

In fact, the Dinka people had very rich culture and that is why it took years for outsiders to influent. Surprisingly it was Dinka who did decide to denounce so vices and not the outsiders. Pastoral Chaw had been in Bor for years, including some missionaries only to left little taste on the litmus paper. John Arou the first Dinka Baptized at Bor became little break through about decades at Malek.

However, our culture is fundamental basic of life. We are practice agro-pastoral and beliefs in supernatural gods. In fact, our communal life does exceeds the so-called Communism system of governance, because we were practicing Apostle communal life like. That was in Athens before the spread of Christianity over the globe.

Back to my point, I would like to urge those assume that the what we used to worship is bad to give chance to culture instead of current of booming modernizations. Subjectively, we should not that snakes as mentioned in previous argument were respected by the Dinka because of divine powers as recorded in the book of Genesis. Therefore, we were not wrong in the practice.

In fact, snakes had supernatural evils, which is to be supported through Adam and Eve. The were innocent couple, but because of snake, they were told to eat the fruit so as to distinguish evil from good. They did it and became discrete on evil and good, and therefore, Dinka does not fall outside the realities. Although the divine in Ajaak were at a time carried out by self-appointees individuals to rob people's possessions.

Dear all, our culture is very important, the drums and shrines which persisted for ages in the land would not be discredited without instead of keeping them in museum, as by brother Guem suggested.

In fact, none of the individual would assume that worship of our Adders revealed that we were fool. We were in better position in the doing of the act. on the other hand, it would be presumed Jesus told his disciple in Mathews 10.14-16 to be shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves. There realities found in the snakes can't be discrete that our people were not foolhardy especially when they did worshiped udders.

Nonetheless, I am Christian, and if you go further I am Evangelist, but that does not qualified to discard what forefathers used to respects. The great fathers knew the essence of goodness found in the snakes, and my qualification would be negative defeated. In fact, our culture should be recorded, exclusive of the roles of evils eyes. We should argue in both side before finally support or refute each evident.

Believe that human beings had in the past followed different gods, and school of Philosophy in Athens Greek was developed so that the nature of goodness in wisdom, gods, piety and impiety are found before right direction is concluded. We can't give in the culture, because It would be less persuasive should 4.5 millions Dinka fail to tell the world what they used to respects.

Surprisingly, our culture has some similarities with other communities, for example, I stumbled into Solomon Islander guys yesterday working on documentary, and they revealed that they respected crocodile because it is believed to be ancestral father of some community in the Solomon. I was astonished because we have some section in my clan that respects Crocodile.

Thus, recording what use to be us, does not negated one from being a good Christian. You can even stay with snake in one way or for whatever purpose. for instance, Jesus was in the wilderness in hand of snake, but his faith made him devoted son of Nhialic.

It would be little weighed idea if we assume that what our parents were doing were useless. In fact, I would remind those who have never attempt the essence in our culture to give it a try. Our culture is very good, I was with Dinka Ngok guys in Brisbane last week, trying to find out whether have same similarities on what we worshiped at Bor. But all in all, They substantial similarities. They respected snakes though living with Arabs(Abyiei). They narrated the roles of man called Alual. Alual was paramount of the Ngok section Puluaal. And some Paluaal are in Ngok and Nyarweng section of Twic. they said.

Alual ordered his men to fight god because there it was raining several months and the cowdungs were not dried. They men began to thrown the spears into the skies as sign of frustration. The spears vanished and however god struck them, and survivors were dispersed. Which became the Paluaal sections in many realms of the Dinka today.

But god refused to let's them cross, and as a result, they gave girl called Achai as mutual trust to so they would go. They cross the river as a result, and from there remerged the padleless boat. Called Achai's boat. They said that for one to cross he or she has to give something so that boat may take on shore. It was very interesting myths that could not by found by the use of google searcher. So culture is good.

I thus remain to acknowledge and appreciated who may be interesting to preserve what use to be our culture. Otherwise, have good Easter ku gam Nhialic ducieng e cak nhialic ku piny. Ku gam Nhialic acie kerace ke koc pol, our evils are forgiven. Yen ran lor luaak te long e thaar.
