"Inittiate a humble beginning"
Abraham G. Awan
In 2005, on the article of (protocol covenant-signing of CPA) our nation has overwhelmingly saturated with a joy, and hope of new adjective in our government and social concerns. People were most excited about social and political corrections that will deal directly, fostering cooperation of sharing and build the bridges of understanding as a nation that God granted freedom at a time. To begin a brand-new and prosper Southern Sudan in a dawn of today’s World. It was the mission statement.
Now all our independent-fighters were truly blessed for their courage and praised that they will also be working-closely to help in transitional process, seeking who will be our next leader after the liberation. Dr. Garang and all other generals have had received a remarkable constellation of support from all walk of life by our people internally and externally, because of their dedications to our country’s future and destiny a head.
After signed a peace agreement to end the situation, our southern government has impeded on with the goals and principles of endorsed documents and a new assignment to deal with predecessor late Garang. And if I am not wrong the (CPA) was proposed with a great deal of purpose and to make a progress realistically by knowing God as a leader and a nation. So the question still remains, to be asked. Because we’re a three years old nation and yet under the grim circumstances, why and what progress did we make as a nation? Lead by Kiir and others. And we have to be careful by measuring the advancement’s probability.
Speaking directly to President Kiir and his fellow freedom heroes that their continuations lack of knowledge in leadership has failed us and their political system is a totally chaotic, and demands a generation to fix it. It seems to me that you both our-independent fighters didn’t comprehensively understand the new assignment that was a head of you after signed those papers in Nairobi.
Still many people are now in South struggling a lot and did not even get a sense of meaning and control over their outcome or their need for self-esteem of freedom. We people in exile have been so silent in knowing that you, Kiir and all your team of administrative will find a common ground for the good of people of South but didn’t.
So here is my point of speaking out today. In order for Southern Sudan to be effective and progressive nation, since you have indicated that you didn’t have a definitive way of doing business, I am challenging you that independent demands a new mentality and a new leadership to be a successful nation and not a freedom-liberator. Under your leadership, Southern Sudan didn’t discipline itself to grasp the moment of exceptionality and be faithful nation at the same time. It’s also confusing that under your ruling policy, democracy is defined as a person, who is related to you even though they’re not qualify, but it’s not a form of system that will correct the problem that we have in the South. What will be needed in South is the accountability of partnership and pursue of affectivity of officials in government if possible. Your minds is always about war and is okay, but I think we need more than that, a new and fresh idea to lead us out of economy crisis and dream for better society.
Later when the new party, (SPLA/M) accept a peace establishment, a lot was expected to be done immediately specially inclusive of laws enforcement as first priority in whole regions of South, but came up short. So having no obligations to serve clearly has led us into a dysfunction of both social and military stability. By accepting a cease fire means to alleviate in providing an attractive alternative to the majority of Southern Sudanese and evenly to the North side. And that’s the only reason the (SPLA) has been so strong during the drastic war. But their lack of prominent institution for a law-active has dearly encouraged the anti-social behavior and increasable side of altercation period among Southern folks. A system should be viable if we this time of a New Year want to regain for a public trust and reestablishing ourselves as a one nation once again.
Creating a new image and a new faith that will give us a purpose in knowing moral-laws is the reason why we’re granted a freedom. A nation cannot do without realizing a will of God and be a successful State. Precisely, I can tell you that the Churches-leaders in Southern Sudan have been so silent and disconnected the net-work of the Church. Which is why there is a crumbling of discontent within Christians and where to go? But I can assure you wouldn’t be enough to simply disassociate the Christ-fellows and preach a division as a way of being smart to gain popularity.
The only thing that can help is a regeneration of a new hope and new faith that can be most likely a considered as a step forward. A hope that can play a significant role in furthering a development of Southern Sudan nation to equal unity under security of God. We should and must remember that God has revealed himself to us in many ways during the war time and yet we didn’t seem to understand it at all. Doing evil is back and will not be good to us if we don’t create a vision able society. Which means the affinity of this country will ultimately require us to make some sacrifice and fulfill them with a courtesy and rational though. And this involves thinking ability to reach out beyond proximity and operate base on pragmatisms and what is best for the country as whole and not a single-minded. We the folks outside should advocate on behalf safety and crusade for better system. Work-hard to solidify and form a subjective-group in your respective locations. Soliciting others people and worship them for help have become headache and hinder us to strive for own best. It’s a time to start behave responsibly and act intellectually-maturity. I am also very pleased that Kuol Manyang didn’t move upward, because I believe that we in Bor need to elevate on the stages of developing our county first.
By acting collectively and be more faithful, patriot to each other in every respect, we will come to occupy a unique position of strength and visibility within a higher purpose in Sudan. Setting example and not a futile old-school, Otherwise Sudan or South will continues to be most like second chaotic region in a continent. Until, this vary moment I supplicate to our willful youth in the U.S. unto galvanized themselves and find one purpose to concentrate on it. Initiate a state of humble to pass on the idea of good leader and better people who huddle together for humility of the country. Thank you, and have a safety and blessed New Year 01/06/09.
